Our kids are Award-Winning! At the 2016-2017 California Garden Club, Inc Annual Garden Awards, and via local Poway Valley Garden Club, we had many winners, announced May-June 2017:
For the 1st grade Bees & Butterflies Poetry Contest, CGI First Place goes to Hannah Kirpalani, PVGC First Place to Trever Rosenbloom, Second Place to Hannah Kirpalani, Third Place to Chelsea Early, and Honorable Mention to Cody Kaechele
For the 2nd grade Tree Essay Contest, CGI Third Place goes to Caitlin Han, and Second Place goes to Mia Orozco. PVGC First Place to Miyana Orozco, Second Place to Caitlin Han, Third Place to Lea Fals, and Honorable Mention to Brodie Rudolph
For the 2nd grade Smokey Bear/Woodsy Owl Poster Contest, National Garden Club & USDA Forest Service awarded Second Place to Anastasia Kissling. PVGC First Place to Anastasia Kissling, Second Place to Tessa McCready, Third Place to Aarushi Thapa, and Honorable Mention to Ryan Gage.
For the 3rd grade Smokey Bear/Woodsy Owl Poster Contest, PVGC First Place to Nik Blanco, Second Place to Emerson Kavelaars Eakins, Third Place to Amoolya Kulkarni, Honorable Mention to Ruth Lee, and Honorable Mention to Lauren Prue.
For the 3rd grade Tree Essay Contest, CGI First Place goes to Sholka Krishna and Second Place goes to Avery Baird. PVGC First Place to Lauren Le, Second Place to Nathan Jones, Third Place to Avery Baird, Honorable Mention to Shloka Krishna, and Special Honorable Mention to Cory Muscat.

PVGC First Place to Jenna Bates, Second Place to Audrey McNinch, Third Place to Clare Cooley, and Honorable Mention to Grant Titera.
For the 3rd grade Recycled Sculptures, PVGC First Place to Gabriel Kay, Second Place to Cherish Wesley, Third Place to Cash Heverly, and Honorable Mention to Elle Siemens.
